Who can resist the charming faces of pansies? These cheerful flowers almost seem to smile as you pass by. Pansies come in many colours and patterns that scream, SPRING! They're great for beds, borders, window boxes, hanging baskets & pots. These easy-to-grow flowers love the sun and typically grow 6 to 9 inches tall, blooming until warmer weather arrives.
Colours range from yellow, red, and blue to purple, pink, and even black. Pansies also have flowers with either clear or blotched patterns.
When it comes to planting pansies, you'll want to ensure they are in a sunny spot in rich, well-drained soil. The plants can tolerate some dryness, but prefer to be just slightly moist at all times. Remove the faded flowers as they appear to encourage the production of additional blooms.
Pansies like to eat a lot, so they bloom better when you feed them regularly. You can use a slow-release fertilizer when you plant them, or mix fertilizer into the water each time you water your pansies to help them bloom a lot!
