Overview:
Under the supervision of the General Manager, oversee the daily activities of the Sales team and seasonal Design Team and ensure efficient sales & store operations. The Sales Manager promotes store and sales growth through coaching on the sales floor and encourages continuous learning/improvement on new products and services. The Sales Manager assesses individual and team performance against business goals and implements business improvement strategies. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all store operations policies. Works in close collaboration with Marketing and Purchasing. Leads a team of an additional 5-10 seasonal sales staff and is responsible for their hiring, onboarding, and training.
Key Accountabilities
• Oversee, direct, and coach Sales staff. Ensure they have appropriate knowledge and skills for sales, customer service, plant care, etc. to offer an unparalleled customer experience and that issues they bring forward are resolved. Work in collaboration with Operations Coordinator to determine scheduling requirements. Responsible for hiring, onboarding and training of Sales staff as well as the development and implementation of semi-annual performance reviews.
• Develop, maintain & implement SOPs and checklists to ensure consistent Anna’s Garden, Home and Wellness practices for Sales staff and provide support as required. Upgrade SOPs as needed to adapt to changing business needs.
• Prioritize one-on-one sales interactions with customers. Manage/attain custom orders. Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient.
• Create daily and weekly action items lists for the sales team. Follow up to ensure tasks are complete.
• Ensure adequate restocking/merchandising of impulse items (including plants).
• Program & troubleshoot POS system, debit terminals and sales hardware. Ensure inventory of Sales supplies are maintained (checklists, receipt paper, change, etc).
• Work in collaboration with Marketing and Purchasing to review forecasts and sales. Align and coach the Sales team to be able to deliver on business goals. Develop and implement staff incentives to boost staff morale.
• Work in collaboration with Purchasing to manage inventory and provide input with ordering store & plant materials.
• Work in collaboration with General Manager & Marketing Manager to organize workshops series Spring, Fall and Winter
• Work in collaboration with seasonal Design Team to determine inventory requirements.

As the Visual Lead, you will be our in-store design visionary and online blogger. Storytelling and merchandising our products in-store and sharing your at-home design/plant insight with our online readers. Working closely with the Marketing and Customer Service Team to ensure that all of Anna's products are up to visual standards and uphold Anna’s lifestyle brand. Making certain that the visual experience aligns with the core values of Anna's in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. In-Store Visual Merchandiser: 2-3 times a week
• Lead & execute store vision for displays, by understanding trends, colour theory, the Anna's brand and our target audience. Rolling out and incorporating new products in a timely manner.

THE OPPORTUNITY . . .
Reporting to the General Manager, the Garden Centre Team Leader oversees the daily activities of the Greenhouse Team (Patio Pot Specialists and Garden Centre Associates), to ensure efficient plant operations, as well as, plant sales. This position is responsible for leading a Team of 2 – 15 individuals, as well as, overseeing the scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and training of all full time and/or seasonal employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) . . .
• Ensure effective greenhouse operations and provide support as required. Provide staff with ongoing training of plant material, customer service and plant care.
• Oversee, direct and coach the Greenhouse Team. Collaborate with the General Manager relating to hiring and staffing requirements.
• Schedule the Greenhouse Team to ensure adequate coverage and service level. Provide staffing solutions or coverage when required.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Marketing Manager to develop in-store promotions and weekly sales. Update signage and prepare sale displays in accordance with weekly promotions.
• Oversee the creation of easily maintainable and aesthetically appealing plant displays. Ensure proper plant maintenance (watering, spacing, etc.) in accordance with Anna’s Flowers’ standard of excellence.
• Process plant returns and address plant-related customer concerns in accordance with Anna’s Flowers’ policies and procedures.
• Assist customers and provide sound advice related to plant products and specific plant care measures.
• Follow, establish and evaluate plant-specific product quality standards. Be able to spot disease and unwanted pests.
• Work in collaboration with the General Manager and Purchasing Manager to oversee inventory and assist with the ordering of plant material.

THE OPPORTUNITY . . .
The Buyer’s role is to purchase products that are essential for Anna’s flowers day-to-day operations. The buyer evaluates vendors, maintains good working relationships with suppliers, negotiates contracts and preparing reports. Regular inventory analysis and management of each seasonal open to buying program.
RESPONSIBILITIES . . .
• Research potential vendors, compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
• Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
• Develop, implement and use best practices for buying and inventory management, including product replenishment, order management and forecasting, vendor management, promotions, pricing, etc.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Maintains vendor and item data integrity within Counterpoint and Management One
• Creates, enters and monitors purchase orders
• Processes accurate and timely replenishment orders by analyzing product forecasting
• Review quality of purchased products and place claims with vendors
• Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices, UPC’s and create SKU’s) into internal databases
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices discrepancies
• Prepare reports on purchases and performance of goods, including cost analyses and margin reporting
• Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
• Coordinate with the team to ensure proper storage
• Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends
• Manage seasonal inventory levels through the proper use and application of seasonal codes at the item and category level
• Authorizes payment of invoices, and/or return of a shipment
• Monthly Management One reviews and inventory analysis with Focus Retail
• Industry tradeshow travelling: 2 to 3 times each year
• Ensure accurate physical inventories
• Communication with Sales Manager: product trends, client feedback, inbound merchandise, special requests, promotions, over inventoried items
• Overseeing the receiving and pricing of merchandise

• Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in a purchasing role of which communicating with a team. Experience in retail/garden centre. Experience in MS Excel & Word, and various social media platforms.

As an “in-store marketer” you will collaborate with the Merchandising Manager to create and maintain the store design and brand image. You will also be responsible for the representation of home and gift merchandise throughout the sales floor.
