Anna’s Summer Favourites

Anna’s Summer Favourites

It’s officially Summer.

This wonderful season brings sunshine, hot weather, trips to the beach, patio hangs and so much more.  We love that summertime brings family, friends and neighbours together, whether it’s gathering for a BBQ or a quick catch up in the driveway while you’re out for your evening walk.

While the summer is filled with long, bright days, it often moves quickly and before we know it we’ll be thinking about pumpkins and all things Fall.  So we encourage all of you to enjoy every minute this season has to offer; those slow lazy days at home, those productive days working around the house, those days hanging by the pool, those evening gatherings around a campfire and those long hot days at the beach.  No matter what age or stage of life -make this year count, make those memories that will last you, your kids or your grandkids a lifetime.  And most importantly don’t forget to step back, slow down and soak it all in.

After a long Winter and wet Spring, we’re all ready to get out and socialize, tackle that long list of To-Do’s, spice things up around the house and get lots of fresh air and sun.

All of us at Anna’s love summer too!  We always enjoy seeing a mix of, people on a mission to find that perfect plant and people taking their time and checking out every nook and cranny of the store with nothing in mind.  The store is full of so many exceptional items for your home and garden, so we wanted to share some of our favourite pieces from our summer collection.

Anna’s carries a great selection of pots and planters in a large variety of sizes, shapes, colours and prices.  We guarantee you’ll be able to find the perfect one to house both your indoor and outdoor plants.  Mixing and staggering different textures, colours and sizes is a great way to spruce up your front porch, back deck or and any room in your home.  Don’t miss our Pot Sale going on from June 21- July 4.  Here are 5 pots we love!

Did you know Anna’s offers kitchen and hosting items? Add some unique and practical pieces to your kitchen countertop to really impress your guests, and then tell them you got it at Anna’s!

1, Shaggies Shrubbies (King Salmon) – $7.99 Finding the perfect re-usable dish scrubber is easier said than done but look no further.  These Shrubbies are amazing, with a thick n’ thirsty 100% cotton front and 100% nylon scrubbing back these work on all your dishes.  We love that they come in a variety of colours and a couple of different sizes for all your cleaning needs around the house.  For those of us trying to reduce waste, these can be used over and over again, toss them in your washer to keep them fresh and don’t forget to soak them overnight in cold water and lemon essential oil to keep that mildew at bay.

2. Dish Cloth Set – $19.99
You can never have too many cute dish towels in our opinion.  We love that this set comes with three different, coordinating patterns and add a pop of colour to any kitchen space.  We can’t get enough of all three patterns, but we’ve got all the heart eyes for that radish print.

3. Enamel Batter Bowl -$29.99
This bowl is giving off all the farmhouse/vintage vibes and is not only good for making cookies, you can mix and stir just about anything in it.  It offers some great qualities; the handle makes it so much easier for hand mixing, it’s lightweight, the spout makes for a cleaner pour and it’s adorable.

4. Copper & Glass Soap Pump – $24.99
Add some style to your kitchen sink and fill this pump bottle with either your hand soap or dish soap.

5. Utensil Holder – $29.99
They never make drawers big enough for all those cooking utensils, so it’s inevitable that we all end up with some sort of container to house those frequently used ones right near our stovetop.  We love this simple, white utensil holder by Mud Pie that showcases the perfect words on the front – “dip it, flip it, mix it, stir it”.

6. Set of 3 Copper Canisters- Small – $19.99, Medium – $29.99, Large – $39.99
We love canisters!  We love that they’re practical and hold frequently used items like coffee, tea, sugar, oats, flour, cookies, crackers, you get the point.  Not only are they useful, but they can really add style to your space too and we’re all about items that do double duty.  Copper has made a comeback and we couldn’t be more excited about it.  If you’re looking to add a unique touch of metal onto your countertops this copper canister set is a must.  We also carry coordinating measuring cups, bowls and soap pump.

Words hold a lot of power.  They can motivate us, encourage us, comfort us, empower us.  We love incorporating signs with just the right word or phrase into our homes.  We carry a large assortment of signs for any space in your house, signs to suit your style, signs to finish off that perfect gallery wall and signs to help you remember all the blessings that surround you daily.

1. “Home” – $12.99
We fell in love with this adorable little sign for so many reasons.  Maybe it’s because it’s summer and for a lot of us this time of year is spent camping.  We thought this would be perfect hung up in your trailer or mixed in with your gallery wall to showcase something you and your family love to do during these summer months.

2. “Welcome to Our Home” – $14.99
This metal sign is lightweight and friendly, perfect for your front porch, front door or entryway.

3. “Laundry Room Co.” – $24.99
We have a sign for every room, yes even your laundry room. This simple little sign can add that perfect little touch either hanging on the wall or sitting on a shelf. Laundry is never ending, you might as well have a nice space to do it in.

4. “Home Sweet Home” – $24.99
Every home should have a sign that says this, in our opinion. Home is our base, our comfort zone, our safe haven.

5. “Farm House” – $44.99
These long, narrow signs are so great because they can be placed in so many different spots, but we especially love them hanging above your kitchen window or above a door.

Finding just the right pieces for your wall can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you’re like us and want to incorporate artwork that is authentic, meaningful and of course suits your décor style. Artwork can get expensive but Anna’s has a wide range of pieces that suit any budget and style.

1. Still Life Peaches – $29.99
This beautiful little piece is full of colour and is such a cute size for placing on those smaller walls to give your space a pop of colour or finishing touch.

2. “Happy Place” Sharon Nowlan Reproduction – $49.99
We always love supporting Canadian artists when we can.  These unique pieces by Sharon are inspired by the natural beauty of Nova Scotia, and we love how she incorporates pieces of sea glass and other aspects of nature within each image.

3. “Adventure Awaits” – $54.99
Recycling and reducing waste is something we’re passionate about.  Using reclaimed and repurposed materials to create and reinvent art is brilliant and beautiful.  The rustic metal with a fun saying is definitely a unique piece worth adding to your space.

4. “Framed Black Graphic” – $89.99
Sometimes you just need a simple, bold, black and white print.  This piece comes in a set of 3 (each sold separately), choose to hang all three together, separate them throughout the house to create a cohesive and unified look or just purchase your favourite one to fill that empty space you’ve had a hard time filling.

5. “Songbirds on Pink Canvas” by Anna Swanson – $199.99
There’s something about this print that just makes us happy.  Maybe it’s the colours, maybe it’s the birds or maybe it’s the combination of the two.  If you’re looking for something that is bright and cheerful this is it!
