Sharing What We’ve Gathered: 2019 Spring Trends

With Winter of 2018/2019 lasting, what seems like, forever we couldn’t help but be excited for a change of season. One of our favourite times of the year is transforming the store from Winter to Spring, and we wanted to share the feeling with you. After arriving home from 4 trade shows, we have gathered a unique collection of goodies, some expansion on existing lines as well as brand new companies we think you are going to love! The colours, styles, and textures of 2019 have been nothing less than impressive and we couldn’t be more excited to share them with you, because we know you’ll love them too!

Suzanne and Marlene share some of their favourite 2019 Spring trends.

To summarize, the trendiest colour schemes of Spring 2019 seem to be earthy tones and natural colour palettes with a pop of vibrancy. We noticed lots of mustard yellows, navy blues, emerald greens, and feminine soft pinks being used as the pops of colour to accent the natural palettes. Metallics, like muted silvers, brassy golds, and yellow golds have been popular for decor pieces like vases, pots, and clocks. We have also noticed soft colours for Spring florals being used in displays and mantel garlands, colours like soft pink, blues, off-whites and more.

Every year we are introduced to more environmentally conscious brands as people are becoming more aware of the environmental impact the products they use and love have on our planet. We are seeing companies that are reducing their negative impact by creating products with less packaging, that are reusable, that have reduced or eliminated harmful ingredients, or that are contributing to a greater cause by donating a portion of the proceeds. A few candle lines we have recently fallen in love with are making a conscious effort in becoming more environmentally friendly by switching to a soy base, trading in the traditional wick for a wood wick, and using a vessel that can be re-purposed. Along with taking better care of the Earth, it is important to take better care of ourselves. Wellness isn’t just a trendy word in 2019, it should be a ritual you incorporate into your daily routine. Wellness items like essential oils, diffusers, body care products, and apothecary are gaining major popularity.

Lastly, houseplants are becoming more popular with every passing year, as they bring the freshness of the outdoors into your home. Succulents, Fiddle Leaf Ficus and Cacti have remained on top for trending houseplants, but we have seen some new emerging favourites making their way into our greenhouses. Plants like Pilea (Pancake Plant), Monstera (Swiss Cheese Plants), and Snake Plant (Mother In-Law’s Tongue) have started to become highly requested, and we can’t wait to bring you more varieties!

Show us how you incorporate 2019 Spring trends into your homes this year, and hashtag your posts with #WelcomeToAnnas. We can’t wait to see what you create!
