As the leaves descend and begin to dry, they carpet the ground with the most magnificent earthy smell. When walking in the woods, or raking the lawn, this old familiar scent ignites a feeling of appreciation for the seasons. While inside, we create our own autumn scents with the help of candles and essential oils. The shift to fresh baked apple pie, cranberries and cinnamon, or balsam fir brings anticipation for the season to come!

Gifts from Nature
Spring and summer bring gifts of brightly coloured budding florals, while fall produces deep hues of drying foliage. Both are a welcomed delight. I am so happy to live in a location that experiences the beauty of all four seasons. My kids especially love playing outside in the fall and gathering treasures from the yard. Whether it's a scavenger hunt or a crafting mission, nature provides the most whimsical findings. Our recent obsession of crafting acorn characters was inspired from the works of artist David Bird. These creations transform everyday items into something so magical, we can’t get enough!

Fall brings with it, an entirely new flavour palette. The food in the fall is savory and rich. This is the season that bring with it delicious one pot dishes like stew, chili, and beef bourguignon! Soups that simmer for hours or creamy pasta bakes. The flavours of which meld in the pot and warm the soul.
