Spread Joy & Kindness

Spread Joy & Kindness

Sunhat $39.99

Have you ever noticed how contagious kindness is? I am a strong believer in the law of attraction, and that the energy we give to the world becomes the energy we then receive.

As an empath, I’ve learned over the years that I really absorb other people’s emotions. It can be both a blessing and a curse at times. But, when I’m around people who are truly caring and optimistic, I feel like the best version of myself. And that’s the version I try to radiate out to the world!

I try to stay in a positive state of mind, but it can prove difficult when every time I turn on the news it seems there is some new hate or disaster happening in the world. It can be consuming. And I’m not suggesting to turn a blind eye to it...part of our duty as humans on this earth is to BE the change. And a big part of that change can take place when we lead by example. So, that’s the route I try my hardest to take – leading by example. These last two years have been HEAVY. I think everyone could use a little lifting up, and what better time is there than now?

It is so easy to fall into our routines, to go about our days in tunnel vision, with little regard for what the stranger next to us may be experiencing in their life. Let’s all take off our blinders and open our hearts. Let’s step out of our routines for even just a moment to make a stranger smile, or to show someone how much they are appreciated.

If you’re feeling inclined to make someone's day a little brighter, here are some ideas to get the ball rolling.

Send a card to someone you love, just because.
It’s so refreshing to receive mail that isn’t bills or junk! Also, handwritten letters, sent via snail mail are always more thoughtful in their narrative.

Pay for the person behind you at the drive thru
I have been on both the giving and receiving end of this classic do-good deed. And I can attest, it always sets my day off to a fantastic start!

Bring your neighbours homemade goods
Because homemade always tastes better!

Do something outrageous and silly to make someone laugh
Never underestimate the power of being plain old silly!

Make a bouquet gift with flowers from your garden
Let’s face it, we’re all busy. And most of us feel like a big chunk of the effort we expend goes unnoticed. Tell someone who’s struggling that you see them. And of course, bring them flowers 😊

Ribbon (20 yard spool) $4.99

There are so many ways we can inject kindness into our days. And if we just open our eyes to it, we may find that there are already so many people who do the same. As I'm finishing up writing this blog, I'm camping with the family. And isn't there a beautiful flower sitting on a vacant site that someone has left as a gift for the new campers rolling in! How serendipitous 💓

And, if you have children, let them get in on the good deed train! Teach them about empathy and show them first hand how they can make a difference in someone else’s world. Lets all try to lead by example & be the change.
