Majesty Palm

Majesty Palm

Have you been struck with the Winter Blues? Add a year-round tropical feel to your home with a beautiful Majesty Palm! This low-maintenance houseplant is known to purify the air and enliven your space with a fresh oasis feel.

Native to wet areas in Madagascar, these feathery palms will thrive when their soil is kept evenly moist and have proper drainage. Be sure that you never let the roots sit in water to avoid plant rot.

When choosing the perfect location for your Majesty palm, consider the air quality as they will be happiest in a moist environment- if this is not an available option try creating a humidity tray by filling a container with gravel/sand and water. If you notice the leaf tips are beginning to turn brown and dry it is likely because the air isn’t moist enough or you haven’t been giving your plant enough water. If you see yellowing of the leaves, the soil is likely too wet. Cut off any of the leaves that are discoloured to allow space for new leaves to grow.

The regal Majesty palm will become larger and more elegant if placed in bright, indirect light. Ideally receiving 6-8 hours of light per day, they should be placed near a sunny window. Add general houseplant fertilizer to the soil every two or three months in Spring and Summer, while letting it rest in the Winter.

Majesty palms are slow growers that only become more elegant with time, add this plant to a bathroom, living room or bedroom for a little touch of bliss!
