Joyous Easter Traditions

Joyous Easter Traditions

Easter Egg Wreath $69.99 | Blue Wooden Easter Bunnies $24.99

Easter is a holiday our family looks forward to every year. It signifies resilience and rebirth. Both spiritually, and in nature. Some people celebrate the rising of Christ, and others honour the reawakening that the season brings. Whatever your beliefs may be, one thing I’m sure we can all agree on is that it is a celebration of love, second chances and hope.

Every year we look forward to taking advantage of the long weekend to spend quality time with our family and friends. Part of what makes Easter so special is the effort put into all the little details.

Every Bunny Welcome sign $14.99

Obviously, the Easter bunny’s egg hunt starts off the morning. But the show stopper is really the scavenger hunt that Grandma affectionately puts on every year. This has been a tradition since I was a girl. And my Mom just gets such joy from it that she has kept it going for all the grandkids. If you are looking for activities to do with your children, I highly recommend it. My Mom goes above and beyond with rhyming clues that have different levels of difficulty so all kids get a chance to participate. She sent me some of this years in advance so I can share them with you!
  • I say ‘tick-tock’ and then go ‘bong’, wind me up & I’ll play a song (grandfather clock)
  • Smelly feet & stinky shoes, not a nice place to hide the clues (boots)
  • Wine, pickles, tomatoes & more, it’s almost like Grandmas own store (cold cellar)
  • Rabbits & deer love to eat here (garden)
  • She’s small, she’s round & she’s black. Ask what you want and she’ll talk back (Alexa)
  • Grandma’s burgers taste so good, grandpa cooks them here, as he should (BBQ)
  • Chocolate bunnies are so yummy to eat, check in a closet for your special Easter treat!

Easter basket $24.99 | Bunny stuffy $29.99 | 3” Pastel gnome $3.99

Although, we don’t get the opportunity to host, I thought I’d play around with some cute table setting ideas. My Mom always sets the table so beautifully, and of course we are always eager to devour the turkey & ham feast she prepares so lovingly, but, everyone looks forward to starting off with the little Lindt bunnies that are set on our plates. It’s a small gesture that only happens once a year, but like most traditions, the continuity makes it so special. If you’re looking for some inspiration on little gestures that can grow into something more, giving your table a little extra TLC might be a good place to start.

Easter bunny linen $14.99 | Wicker placemat $14.99 | Tulips (bunch) $19.99

Some other cute place settings could be a peat pot full of super moss and Cadbury Mini eggs, or the cutest little artificial nest.

Ribbon (10 yards) $4.99

Moss nest with eggs $12.99

I love the idea of incorporating moss into a spring centerpiece. It adds so much vibrant green, and is essentially maintenance free. For this playful setup, I used a tray with a bit of a ledge to keep everything in place, then i added the bunnies and simply filled the bottom with moss. I used 2 different shades of green to give it a bit of depth and variation.

Wooden oval tray: $49.99 | Supermoss $12.99 | Egg Bunny statue $19.99

Whether your Easter weekend is centered around your faith or something different I hope you are able to spend quality time with those you love (and I hope you indulge in a little chocolate too 😉).

Framed bunny picture $39.99 | Rose Astilbe pick $9.99 | Bead garland $12.99
