Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening

First arrival peony $49.99

Oh, how I love spring. The season of rebirth and renewal. The earth seems to stir with anticipation, ready to bloom after a long and restful slumber. I can’t help but admire in awe as mother nature orchestrates the awakening of the world around us. A symphony of colours, scents, and sounds.

I am a true believer that joy is found in the little things. It’s available to all of us and requires very little: to simply open our eyes and our hearts. To pay attention to the world around us and see that the magic has been here all along.

Maybe I’ve been reading too much poetry, hahaha…or maybe the enchantment of spring has me under its spell. Either way, I will gladly accept all of these gifts from nature. And I will enjoy them with my friends, as we too awaken and shake loose from tight grasp of winter.

We’ve been lucky this year to have an early start to spring weather! I don’t know about you, but our family has been taking full advantage and spending as much time as possible outside. Being with little ones has certainly changed the lens in which I see life through. They find such joy in simple pleasures, like turning up a rock to find millions of ants working hard, or the beauty in a perfectly constructed spiderweb. Celebrating little moments like this keeps us from taking for granted the many miracles in nature.

Iris - $24.99

We also won’t take for granted these sunny days!  Spring forecasts can be so sporadic, but this sunshine has us getting a head start on all kinds of activities. If you’re looking for reasons to get outside, here are a few ideas:
  • Go for a bike ride with the family, or alone. Make stops frequently to take in the views!
  • Get a head start at your gardening projects.
  • Sit in the sun and enjoy a cold beverage.
  • Have a nap outside!
  • Venture out to one of the many wineries and enjoy a drink and snack with friends.
  • Give your garden a facelift with fresh mulch.
  • Exercise/yoga in the backyard.
  • Have a fire and roast marshmallows.
  • Go fishing.
  • Find some brave friends and go for a cold dip in the lake.
  • Get creative and make your own patio pots.
  • Go puddle jumping.
  • Have a picnic lunch.
  • Have a BBQ dinner outside with friends and family.
  • Go to Anna’s and feel inspired by all of the gorgeous blooms!

Let the fresh air and warm sun awaken our souls and fill our hearts with possibilities of what is yet to come! Spring invites us to revel in the beauty around us. To embrace the magic of the world coming to life, as we too, bloom in the most magnificent ways.
