Being a mom is the hardest job I’ve ever done and there’s no job I’ve ever loved more.
A mom is more than giving birth to a child. It’s caring for a little life that is completely dependent on you. It’s sleepless nights, bandaging scraped knees, teaching them to walk, wiping away tears and sometimes not knowing how to fix their broken hearts, and it’s loving them unconditionally and worrying every minute about them for the rest of your life. Being a mom means making mistakes, so many mistakes. It’s growing a heart on the outside of your body.
Being a mother means finally realizing why the mama bear’s porridge went cold.
Motherhood isn’t just having a baby. It’s a choice you make every day to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what the right thing is and to forgive yourself over and over and over again for doing everything wrong.
Someone once told me that the days are long but the years are short…and it’s so true – now that my girls are 6, 8, and 10, I can’t believe how fast the years have gone bye.
I always joke that the only spa day I get is when the steam from the dishwasher hits my face. At Anna’s we have so many items in the store for Mom for Mother’s Day. Wonderful bath bombs, lotions, and candles for a mom who just needs some “me time”.
