A Time for Renewal

Anna’s is a favorite spot for so many of us. It is a place of beauty and life, a place to connect with nature and to find joy in the little moments. With warmer weather around the corner, we’ve been hard at work preparing to open again and cannot wait to welcome you all!

If you could see the garden center during the couple winter months that we are closed, you would not believe all of the work behind the scenes that is poured into this place. Gardeners tend to the plants lovingly, all year round, and everything is rearranged. All of the plant isles change for the spring season, there isn’t a plant or pot that goes untouched. And every inch of empty space is used to house new plant babies while they grow.

It's a little early in the year to begin our outdoor gardens, but for now, Anna's is a place where we can come to feel inspired. And if you have the itch to get your hands in the dirt, an indoor houseplant sanctuary is definitely an option.

As for the décor side, everything is emptied. All of the walls, shelves, and pipes get a good washdown and the fixtures and shelves are all rearranged to showcase the new and coming merchandise. (Which I cannot wait for you to see!) A lot of thought and hard work go into mapping out the shop’s floorplan and bringing it to life.

There’s a tremendous amount of painting and staining and building. The whole experience is like something that could be seen on HGTV. The rush of getting it all prepared in time for open, and the thrill of waiting on shipping for all the new merchandise. The transformation is amazing! This is the stuff I live for!

I cannot wait for you all to come in and peruse the isles to find little treasures that bring your homes to life. Whether you’re hoping to find a houseplant, a candle, or something to pretty up your shelves, rest assured, the garden center will not disappoint!

After the short, dark days of January walking into a place so vibrant and full of life is a breath of fresh air. Seeing all of the bright colours adds anticipation for all of the budding life that will be sprouting in the coming spring months.

I have enjoyed the slow pace of winter, and the cozying up. But I gotta tell you, I am ready to get back to work! I am ready to be inspired by the many workshops Anna’s has planned. I am ready to walk the familiar floors and to see familiar faces! And I hope you are too!

The renewal of the garden center every year is something I so look forward to. Being surrounded by greenery and feeling the sun on my face just feels like spring. And I am definitely ready for that!
