As the sun bathes the world around us with her golden rays, we anticipate summer days and all the fun that is to be had. Every year, I have intentions of making time for all kinds of exciting summer activities. And every year it seems, the summer just goes by too quickly – leaving my good intentions in the dust. So, this year, to make the most of every sunny day, I am writing out a summer bucket list.

Stoneware berry basket $14.99

Creating a summer bucket list prior to the seasons beginning is always a good idea. It allows us to set goals and pencil them in the calendar before life takes over and precious time is gone. Because we know all too well that happens in the blink of an eye. So now, while we’re all sun kissed and dreamy, it’s the perfect time to create a to-do list for summer.

For my bucket list I’m including a lot of simple activities as well. Seemingly small events that I want to be mindful and present for. This bucket list isn’t just for goal setting, it’s a reminder to live in the moment and take in the gifts of the season.

Here we go! SUMMER BUCKET LIST 2024:
  • Paint a Picture
  • Morning Bike Rides

Fir wood basket $39.99 | 6" angel wing $14.99

  • Make Bouquets with Garden Florals
My daughter has already been foraging for pretty blooms and greens to make arrangements with. She comes in the house almost daily with gifts for me from the yard. It warms my heart. This summer, I thought it would be fun to bring homemade bouquets to friends when we go for dinner.

Ribbon $9.99 | Forged iron scissors $49.99
  • Eat Lunch Outside
Even if I’m working. Bring it outside and soak up the vitamin D. Being in nature fills my soul, and I will sneak it in whenever possible.

Fir wood basket $39.99 | Throw blanket $69.99 | Kingsville brewery hop water $2.99Sweet nutrition protein cookies $4.99
  • Meditate/Journal in nature.
I really want to make a conscious effort to do this. I will have the kids home most days, and finding peaceful moments on my own is crucial for maintaining my inner peace. Bringing my meditation time out in a beautiful space where I can breathe in the subtle scents of nature will lower stressors
My bucket list is also filled with so many family activities.  Some are ideas for slow days to get us out of the house while I’m home with the kids. Some are bigger events for the whole fam.
  • Go Berry Picking
  • Spend the Day at the Beach

Every year we say we’ll have Sunday funday at the beach as a weekly tradition. And low and behold, every year life happens and the beach days don’t. This year…I’M PUTTING IT IN THE CALENDAR!

  • Go Camping
  • Explore Peche island on a kayak.
  • Boat Rides & fishing

  • Roast Marshmallows
  • Scavenger Hunt (in town edition)
We always do nature scavenger hunts, and I feel like the kids have gotten kind of ho-hum about it. I think it would be fun to bring them for a walk through town and give them a list of things to find through the stores and on the streets.

And of course, the bucket list has social events too! Summer is the best time to get outside with friends!
  • Winery Lunch with the Ladies

Oxley Estate Winery

  • Set up a Photoshoot
Everyone in my family hates getting their picture taken. Sadly, we haven’t had any professional pictures since my son was born. I would love to set up a pretty space in the yard and have friends over for a photoshoot. We could take each others family pictures, and also snap fun ones of us all together. I’ve been seeing so many fun & silly adult friend photoshoots on Pinterest, I think it would be so much fun to try!
  • Beach Volleyball
  • BBQ & Bonfire

Wildly Delicious BBQ Sauce $10

  • Outdoor Movie Night
  • Enjoy Open Streets on a Saturday evening.
I LOVE that our town does this. It is such a great way to get the community together outside. It’s fun for all ages and supports local business. This is the one good thing that came from Covid times!
By crafting our own personalized summer bucket lists, we can ensure that sunny days don’t go to waste. It helps us to be intentional in seeking out ways to soak up the sunshine, explore the great outdoors, and create memories to last a lifetime. Whatever your bucket list looks like, I hope it helps you make the most of the season ahead. 🌞
