Nuts4Dates is the definition of tiny but mighty. What started as an unplanned leap for husband-and-wife duo Lena and Fadi quickly became the most gratifying adventure of their lives. Rooted in their Iraqi heritage, where dates are part of everyday life and a symbol of hospitality, Nuts4Dates is their ode to home, culture, and the flavours they grew up with. Today, that same sense of warmth is carried into every treat they make and every person they meet.

Their joy lies in creating healthier dessert and snack alternatives using natural, minimal ingredients. Everything is made in their entirely gluten-free (but definitely not nut-free) facility with intention and care. If you’ve visited their table at a market, you already know their signature generosity—forks of cheesecake and bites of date treats are always ready to share. Offering samples is their small way of giving back and showing gratitude for the community that has supported them from the beginning.

For Lena and Fadi, success has never been about numbers or sales. It’s found in the quiet, deeply personal wins—the meaningful connections with customers and retail partners, the risks they took before they felt ready, the community that continues to show up for them. Nuts4Dates has truly become the baby they didn’t have, something they nurture, protect, and love wholeheartedly. It holds a real identity in their lives, a member of the family in the best possible way.

In under three years, their growth has been remarkable: expanding into more retailers than expected, attending expos and trade shows, moving from a rental kitchen into their very own brick-and-mortar space, juggling back-to-back markets, giving back to the local community whenever they can, and forming friendships that will outlast any business milestone. Their cups, as they like to say, are full to the brim.

Kindness is the philosophy that guides everything they do—personally, professionally, and within every interaction Nuts4Dates brings into their lives. Even their new space reflects that energy, offering a warmth and comfort that makes people want to stay. They’ve learned to take risks, to “take the seatbelt off,” as Fadi often reminds Lena, balancing courage with thoughtfulness as they continue to grow.

At the heart of their motivation is people. It’s the reactions from first-time tasters, the heartfelt messages after a delivery, the strangers who offer help, the hugs from customers who feel like they already know them. These moments are what fuel Nuts4Dates forward and make the journey so meaningful. For Lena and Fadi, nothing matters more than the community that has embraced them—and it shows in every bite, every interaction, and every step of their story.
