Meet Bothwell Cheese, founded and developed in 1936, with what started as a co-op of dairy farmers in Manitoba, looking for a way to use up their extra milk- knowing that the highest quality and best-tasting products come from cheese made with 100% Canadian dairy!

What does 100% Canadian milk mean?

  • No artificial ingredients
  • No preservatives
  • No modified milk ingredients
  • No fillers
  • No antibiotics
  • No hormones

Consumer Awareness: The Dairy Farmers of Canada

“Many dairy products produced and sold in Canada contain modified milk ingredients. Imported milk ingredients used in these products may contain antibiotics and synthetic growth hormones. The Dairy Farmers of Canada Quality Milk symbol was created in response to consumers who wanted to know the origin and contents of their food on the packaging.

Buying products that bear the Dairy Farmers of Canada Quality Milk symbol guarantees 100% Canadian milk ingredients, no antibiotics, no synthetic growth hormones, and a product that supports local dairy farmers and the economy.”

With a tradition of quality, real people, master cheesemakers stir, measure, weigh, package and cut the cheese, 15,000 kg of cheese per day to be exact – with 98% of the ingredients coming from within 100 km of where the cheese is crafted.

Not only is it Canadian made, but it is also award-winning! At the 2020 World Championship Cheese Contest. Bothwell Cheese claimed the top prize in the marbled curd cheese category, grabbing a score of 99.50 beating out 41 other companies in the category! We mean it when we say that it is a must-try!
